General Allied Health Questions

How long are Sunbelt’s travel allied health assignments?

Not all travel and contract allied health jobs are the same. The assignment length is typically 13 weeks, but this can vary based on what you are looking for in an allied role as well as what the healthcare facility needs. In addition, you may have opportunities to extend the length of your assignment or find another nearby job opening.

I’m interested in allied health jobs in a particular location, but what if I don’t have a license in that state?

We know that it can be overwhelming to look for allied health jobs without being a licensed allied health professional in the state you’re interested in. We’ve been working with travel healthcare professionals for over 30 years, so we understand the process and can help guide you toward the next steps in getting to work in the state you want to be in. Often, this includes directing you to the appropriate allied health professional boards and going over timelines to help you know when you’ll be ready to explore your next destination.

How do I select an allied health travel assignment?

When you apply for a job with us, we'll chat with you to assess your skills, certifications, and personal preferences. We do this to help you find a placement that is fulfilling to you and one that allows you to impact the lives of patients who need you. Upon finding a position that matches your needs, we can submit you to the facility manager as a candidate for the allied health job opening. After reviewing your information and conducting a phone or video call interview, the facility manager will let us know if they'd like to extend you an offer. If so, we'll let you know if there's an offer after the interview. You can then choose whether or not to accept it.

I have selected a travel allied health assignment. What happens now?

The onboarding process will begin after you accept a contract allied health position with Sunbelt. Your hiring manager will send you the necessary paperwork and verify that you meet all the requirements for licensure and certification. It is important to us that we meet compliance standards, so you will not be able to begin work until your documentation is complete. If you have questions about your job, please contact your hiring manager.

If I like my assignment, is it possible for me to stay on as a travel allied health professional?

Yes! We often have opportunities for you to extend your current assignment after the initial assignment is completed. This opportunity is driven by the needs of the facility you’re working in, so it’s not guaranteed. But, what is guaranteed is that whether you are looking to extend your current assignment or looking for a new job, we will be your advocate through the process and help you find the next stop in your career.

In my staff position, there are many benefits such as retirement, continuing education, etc. What does Sunbelt offer if I were to accept an allied health assignment?

At Sunbelt, we offer you comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision insurance and matching 401(k). Check out our benefits page to learn more or speak with a hiring manager today to see what benefits you are eligible for on your allied health assignment.
