What is an Operating Room (OR) Nurse?
Operating room nurses have a tremendous responsibility of working with patients, as well as their families, who are preparing to undergo a surgical procedure. OR RNs help with evaluations, planning and implementation to ensure that patients are cared for at an optimal level.
Operating Room Nurse Duties
Some of the responsibilities of an OR Nurse include:

- Administer medications and other treatments
- Prepare and sterilize operation instruments
To be able to perform duties as an OR RN, you are required to have completed the typical education requirements for an RN and complete a certificate program that qualifies registered nurses for operating room jobs.
