Job Type: 1099 Contracting Position

Contract Length:  24/25 School Year

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide top-notch instruction and support to students in North Carolina for the upcoming school year. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons, collaborate with school teams, and help students overcome educational challenges related to hearing loss.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide virtual instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing evidence-based practices and instructional technologies.
  • Collaborate with students, families, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Conduct assessments, monitor student progress, and adjust instruction as necessary to ensure academic growth.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.
  • Stay current on best practices in deaf education and technology-assisted learning.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or Special Education (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in North Carolina
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, either in person or through virtual instruction.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a virtual environment.
  • Comfortable using technology and virtual teaching platforms.
  • Must pass a VocoVision technical screening (showing knowledge of the platform Zoom)
