Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Sign Language Interpreters to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Virtual Sign Language Interpreter, you will provide remote interpretation services for students and clients in Michigan. This is a 1099 contract position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home.

Responsibilities:

Provide virtual sign language interpretation for students
Facilitate effective communication between the student and teachers during instructional time, ensuring the student's full participation in classroom activities.
Partner with an instructional aide who will support the student on site
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school personnel to ensure that the student's individualized educational needs are met.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times, adhering to ethical standards of practice for sign language interpreters.

Qualification Requirements:

EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
EIPA scores of 3.5 - 3.9 are eligible if scores have been received within the last 24 months. A waiver will be secured for this scenario.
Previous experience interpreting in educational settings with children
Excellent time management and collaboration skills
Must pass a VocoVision technical screening (showing knowledge of the platform Zoom)
