Job Description:
This is a part time position for 2 hours/ week. As a Virtual Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing remote occupational therapy services to students, contributing to their overall well-being and academic success in a virtual learning environment.
Responsibilities:

  • Virtual Assessments: Conduct virtual assessments to evaluate students' fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and other occupational therapy needs. Utilize virtual tools and observations to gather comprehensive assessment data.
  • Individualized Therapy Plans: Develop and implement individualized virtual occupational therapy plans based on assessment results and students' specific needs. Provide engaging and interactive virtual therapy sessions to address identified goals.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to student support. Participate in virtual team meetings to discuss student progress and adjust intervention plans as necessary.
  • Digital Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date digital records of assessments, therapy sessions, and progress reports. Generate written reports and communicate findings to parents, educators, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices and research in the field of occupational therapy. Participate in virtual professional development opportunities and training sessions.
  • Technology Utilization: Effectively use virtual platforms and technology tools for assessments, therapy sessions, and communication.
  • Advocacy: Advocate for students with occupational therapy needs, ensuring they receive appropriate support and accommodations in a virtual learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Virginia licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience in school-based settings and virtual therapy is preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficient in the use of virtual platforms and technology for remote service delivery.
