Job Description

Sunbelt Staffing is looking for a travel Ultrasound Technologist in Jeffersonville, IN for a travel assignment!

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining the procedure, obtaining relevant medical history, and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. Position patients appropriately and provide instructions for optimal image acquisition.

  2. Equipment Setup and Operation: Set up and operate ultrasound equipment to perform a variety of imaging studies, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and musculoskeletal ultrasound examinations. Adjust equipment settings and transducer positions to optimize image quality and diagnostic accuracy.

  3. Image Acquisition: Perform ultrasound scans according to physician orders and established protocols. Apply ultrasound gel to the patient's skin and use the transducer to capture real-time images of the anatomical structures of interest. Evaluate image quality and make adjustments as necessary to obtain diagnostic images.

     

    Requirements:

  4. Education: Completion of an accredited ultrasound technology program with a degree or certificate in diagnostic medical sonography. Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required.

  5. Licensure: Valid state licensure or certification as a diagnostic medical sonographer (RDMS) or vascular technologist (RVT), as required by regulatory agencies. Additional certifications in specialized ultrasound modalities (e.g., abdominal, obstetric, vascular) may be preferred.

  6. Experience: Previous experience as an ultrasound technologist, preferably in a clinical or hospital setting, is desirable. Familiarity with a variety of ultrasound procedures and imaging techniques is advantageous.
