Job Description

Sunbelt Staffing is looking for a travel Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse in Jeffersonville, IN for a travel assignment!

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Patient Assessment and Monitoring: Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' cardiac status, including monitoring vital signs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and response to treatment. Continuously monitor patients' condition and intervene promptly to address changes or deterioration.

  2. Postoperative Care: Provide specialized care to patients recovering from cardiac surgery, such as coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve replacement, or heart transplantation. Monitor surgical incisions, assess for complications, and manage drains, tubes, and invasive lines.

  3. Critical Interventions: Administer medications, fluids, and blood products as prescribed by physicians, titrating doses and monitoring responses closely. Perform advanced cardiac monitoring, including interpretation of cardiac rhythms, recognition of arrhythmias, and initiation of appropriate interventions.

    Requirements:
    Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of employment. Additional certification in critical care nursing (CCRN) or cardiac nursing is preferred.
    Experience: Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, with specific experience in cardiac critical care or ICU nursing preferred. Proficiency in managing complex cardiac patients, interpreting hemodynamic monitoring data, and performing critical interventions is required.
    Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification: Current certification in ACLS is required, with additional certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
