Are you a skilled and compassionate Cath Lab Tech looking for a rewarding contract opportunity in Charleston, South Carolina? Join our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact on patient care!
Responsibilities:
- Pre-procedure Preparation: Assist in the preparation of the cath lab and patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including ensuring that all necessary equipment, supplies, and medications are readily available.
- Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and hemodynamic parameters during catheterization procedures, alerting the medical team to any significant changes or abnormalities.
- Assistance During Procedures: Assist physicians and other medical personnel during cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing and positioning patients, operating imaging equipment (e.g., fluoroscopy), and passing catheters and other instruments as needed.
- Radiation Safety: Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and oneself during fluoroscopic imaging procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a formal training program in cardiovascular technology or cardiac catheterization preferred.
- Certification: Certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) strongly preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working as a cath lab technician or in a related cardiovascular setting is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting cath lab equipment, including fluoroscopy systems, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) machines, and pressure monitoring devices.
