Job Description

Are you a skilled and compassionate Cath Lab Tech looking for a rewarding contract opportunity in Charleston, South Carolina? Join our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact on patient care!

Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-procedure Preparation: Assist in the preparation of the cath lab and patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, including ensuring that all necessary equipment, supplies, and medications are readily available.
  2. Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients' vital signs, electrocardiograms (ECGs), and hemodynamic parameters during catheterization procedures, alerting the medical team to any significant changes or abnormalities.
  3. Assistance During Procedures: Assist physicians and other medical personnel during cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing and positioning patients, operating imaging equipment (e.g., fluoroscopy), and passing catheters and other instruments as needed.
  4. Radiation Safety: Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and oneself during fluoroscopic imaging procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a formal training program in cardiovascular technology or cardiac catheterization preferred.
  2. Certification: Certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) strongly preferred.
  3. Experience: Previous experience working as a cath lab technician or in a related cardiovascular setting is highly desirable.
  4. Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting cath lab equipment, including fluoroscopy systems, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) machines, and pressure monitoring devices.
