School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Full-Time | Northern Virginia

We are currently seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time school-based opportunity in the Northern Virginia area for the 2026-2027 school year.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative special education team supporting students in a large public school district. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to help students develop the communication skills needed for academic and social success.

Position Details

• Full-time position (35 hours per week)
• 7-hour workday
• 2026-2027 school year
• Start Date: August 2026
• End Date: June 2027
• Onsite position
• Multiple school locations throughout the Northern Virginia area
• Supportive team environment with opportunities for collaboration

Responsibilities

• Implement speech-language treatment plans developed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
• Provide direct therapy services to students individually and in small groups
• Collect therapy data and document student progress
• Assist with speech-language screenings and therapy preparation
• Support IEP goals through implementation of therapy activities
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district procedures

Student Population

The selected SLPA will support students across a variety of grade levels and communication needs, including:

• Articulation and phonological disorders
• Expressive and receptive language disorders
• Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Social communication challenges
• Fluency disorders
• AAC support and other speech-language needs

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences, Speech-Language Pathology, or Communication Disorders
• Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist
