School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Full-Time | Northern Virginia
We are currently seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a full-time school-based opportunity in the Northern Virginia area for the 2026-2027 school year.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative special education team supporting students in a large public school district. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to help students develop the communication skills needed for academic and social success.
Position Details
- Full-time position (35 hours per week)
- 7-hour workday
- 2026-2027 school year
- Start Date: August 2026
- End Date: June 2027
- Onsite position
- Multiple school locations throughout the Northern Virginia area
- Supportive team environment with opportunities for collaboration
Responsibilities
- Implement speech-language treatment plans developed by the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
- Provide direct therapy services to students individually and in small groups
- Collect therapy data and document student progress
- Assist with speech-language screenings and therapy preparation
- Support IEP goals through implementation of therapy activities
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district procedures
Student Population
The selected SLPA will support students across a variety of grade levels and communication needs, including:
- Articulation and phonological disorders
- Expressive and receptive language disorders
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Social communication challenges
- Fluency disorders
- AAC support and other speech-language needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences, Speech-Language Pathology, or Communication Disorders
- Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist
