School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT) | Full-Time | Tucson, AZ | 2026-2027 School Year

We are currently seeking two Occupational Therapists (OTs) for full-time school-based opportunities in the Tucson, Arizona area for the 2026-2027 school year.

Join a collaborative special education team dedicated to helping students maximize their independence and success in the classroom. These positions offer manageable caseloads, support from an experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across elementary and secondary education.

Position Details

  • 2 Full-Time Openings
  • 40 hours per week
  • 2026-2027 school year

Position Options

Position 1

  • One elementary campus
  • Approximately 60-student caseload
  • Students with significant cognitive impairments, adaptive needs, and resource services
  • Limited high school transition/independent living student support

Position 2

  • Three elementary school campuses
  • Approximately 60-student caseload
  • Diverse student population receiving school-based occupational therapy services
  • COTA available to assist with service delivery

Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
  • Develop individualized treatment plans aligned with student IEP goals
  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Recommend classroom accommodations, adaptive equipment, and sensory strategies
  • Complete documentation, progress reports, and required compliance paperwork
  • Supervise and collaborate with a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) as appropriate

Student Population

Students may present with a variety of educational and developmental needs, including:

  • Cognitive impairments
  • Developmental delays
  • Fine motor and visual motor deficits
  • Sensory processing challenges
  • Adaptive skill needs
  • Functional mobility and classroom participation needs
  • Other disabilities requiring occupational therapy support within the educational setting

Qualifications

  • Active Arizona Occupational Therapy License
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for helping students reach their highest level of independence and success
