Job Description

A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in inpatient rehabilitation therapy. This contract position is based in Universal City, TX, at a well-equipped inpatient rehab unit with 32 beds and a multidisciplinary team including around 35 therapists and 50 nurses. The unit operates primarily on day shift hours and treats patients requiring focused rehabilitation treatments including ADLs and evaluations.

Location Details:
This role is situated in a reputable hospitals inpatient rehabilitation unit located on the 3rd floor of the South Building. The facility is known for using advanced rehabilitative equipment such as H200/L300 and BURT, integrating modern EMR systems (Meditech) to support patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient evaluations and develop individualized therapy plans.
  • Provide direct inpatient rehabilitation treatments focused on functional communication and swallowing.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in unit activities and adhere to treatment protocols consistent with inpatient rehab standards.
  • Work flexible hours, including a minimum of two weekends per 4-week period.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation is essential; candidates lacking this will not be considered.
  • Initiative and teamwork skills are critical, including the ability to flex work schedules as needed.
  • Preferred candidates have prior inpatient rehab experience and demonstrate openness to weekend shifts.
  • Current BLS certification is required.

Work Environment & Dress Code:

  • Scrubs are required; specifically, black pants with olive scrub tops.
