A skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed for a contract position providing inpatient rehabilitation therapy in Schertz, TX. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered speech therapy within a multidisciplinary rehab team in a 32-bed inpatient rehab unit.

Responsibilities include evaluation and treatment of patients activities of daily living (ADLs) and speech-language disorders using inpatient rehab protocols and equipment. Therapists can expect to provide approximately 5 to 6 hours of direct treatment per day. Collaboration with occupational and physical therapists, nursing staff, and rehab aides is essential to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Basic knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation is required; candidates lacking this will not be considered
• Ability to work flexibly as part of a collaborative team
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Previous inpatient rehab experience preferred
• Outgoing and adaptable personality with strong communication skills
• Willingness to work a minimum of two weekend shifts per four-week period

Work Environment & Location: This role is based on the 3rd floor of the South building at a hospital in Schertz, TX, within a rehab unit staffed by approximately 35 therapists and 50 nurses. The workday is primarily a day shift with no night shifts. Staff wear black pants and olive scrub tops per unit dress code.
