Provide specialized speech-language pathology services in a dynamic inpatient rehabilitation setting located in San Antonio, TX. This contract role supports patients recovering through a comprehensive rehab program encompassing physical, occupational, and speech therapies. Flexibility, initiative, and collaboration are essential to deliver effective care in this 32-bed unit.
Location Highlights
Situated in the heart of San Antonio, this inpatient rehab unit is housed on the 3rd floor of a South building, featuring a well-equipped environment for patient recovery. San Antonio offers a vibrant mix of cultural heritage, scenic parks, and urban amenities, providing an excellent setting for work and life balance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform speech-language evaluations and deliver therapy focusing on Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and usual inpatient rehab treatments
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including OTs, PTs, nurses, and rehab aides to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR systems
- Participate in scheduled weekend shifts (minimum two per 4-week period) to support continuous patient care
- Adhere to unit policies, including dress code (black pants and olive scrub tops) and professional conduct standards
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Basic knowledge of inpatient rehabilitation essential; candidates lacking this will not be considered
- Experience working in inpatient rehab highly preferred
- Strong teamwork skills with ability to adapt and communicate effectively
- Outgoing, flexible personality with initiative
- Current BLS certification required
- Willingness to work weekends as required
Schedule:
- Day shifts primarily; occasional weekend shifts (minimum two per 4-week period)
