Job Description

A hospital-based opportunity is available in California for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist seeking a travel contract role. This position involves collaborating with dedicated healthcare teams to deliver speech therapy services to diverse patient populations in an acute care setting. Candidates must demonstrate a strong clinical background and exceptional communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital-based SLP experience
  • Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist license
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Proficiency in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Strong documentation and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and patients from various backgrounds

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract assignment with standard hospital shifts (specifics provided during the interview process)

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders
  • Provide individualized therapy and monitor patient progress
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals for coordinated patient care
  • Educate patients and family members on therapy goals and at-home exercises
  • Maintain thorough and accurate patient records in accordance with hospital protocols
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and contribute to case conferences
