A California hospital seeks a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide expert care in an acute setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for a therapist who brings a strong clinical background and a commitment to supporting patients communication and swallowing needs during their hospitalization.
Schedule/Hours:

Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of full-time experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a hospital setting
- Current, active California SLP license
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
- Deliver individualized, evidence-based therapy to patients with acute and complex medical needs
- Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation following hospital and regulatory requirements
- Consult and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation staff to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals, progress, and techniques for continued progress outside the hospital
- Participate in discharge planning, contributing recommendations for continuity of care
