Job Description
A Speech Therapist is needed to assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders to support patients in improving communication and safe swallowing skills. This contract position is based in New Lisbon, WI.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting direct patient care focused on speech, language, and swallowing assessments and interventions
- Completing all required patient documentation such as initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Communicating with insurance companies regarding patient benefits
- Preparing for evaluation and treatment sessions meticulously
- Educating interdisciplinary staffincluding nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service personnelon evaluation results and evidence-based recommendations
- Developing in-service presentations and educational opportunities for staff growth
- Collaborating with healthcare providers to deliver patient-centered care plans
- Maintaining cleanliness of treatment areas after sessions
- Performing reminder calls to patients and assisting patients and families with hospital navigation
- Carrying out additional duties as assigned
