Job Description

A California hospital seeks an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) specializing in therapy services within an acute care setting. Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a hospital or similar acute care setting
  • Active and valid California SLP license required
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Strong communication, documentation, and patient advocacy skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Responsibilities:

  • Assess, diagnose, and implement treatment plans for patients with a variety of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and documentation in compliance with hospital and state regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and family members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
  • Provide patient and family education regarding therapy processes, progress, and management strategies
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and progress reports
  • Participate in care plan meetings, discharge planning, and hospital quality improvement initiatives
