A Speech Language Pathologist position is available in Elkhart, IN, offering a rewarding opportunity to provide therapy services in a hospital setting. This contract role requires a licensed professional ready to start as soon as possible and work a consistent 40-hour week. Candidates must hold current BLS and CCC-SLP certifications along with a state license (no temporary licensure accepted). First-time licensed therapists with at least one year of experience are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current state license in hand prior to start date (pending license can be accepted during application)
- Valid BLS certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience; first timers welcomed
- Ability to float between inpatient rehab and acute care settings
- Comfortable with Cerner charting system
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech language therapy to inpatient rehabilitation and acute care patients
- Work a Monday-Friday schedule, 5 days, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM 4:30 PM)
- Participate in mandatory weekend and on-call shifts every other Saturday and Sunday, scheduled in advance
- Optionally pick up holiday shifts at time and a half
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered care
Schedule & Hours:
- 5x8 hour shifts (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM)
- Every other Saturday: 8-hour shift
- Sundays on call for 4 hours (only for weekends worked)
