Provide skilled physical therapy services within a healthcare setting in Worcester, MA, delivering compassionate care in alignment with physician orders. This contract role focuses on patient evaluations, treatment implementation, and direct supervision of Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs) when assigned. The position supports adherence to state-specific licensing requirements and promotes ongoing patient care excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform thorough patient evaluations and provide therapeutic treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist physicians in evaluating patient function levels and updating plans of care.
- Observe, document, and report patient progress in health records.
- Advise and educate patients, families, and healthcare personnel regarding therapy programs.
- Supervise and evaluate PTAs and HHAs, ensuring quality care delivery.
- Evaluate home environments and recommend modifications.
- Participate in professional development and in-service education sessions.
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with the care team.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Successful completion of a physical therapy program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association or similar.
- Current, valid physical therapy license for Massachusetts.
- CPR certification required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of physical therapy experience preferred.
- Proficient with basic computer functions including electronic health records, communication tools, and online training platforms.
- Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and required liability insurance.
