Location Overview: Situated in Gainesville, FL, this hospital rehab unit is dedicated to comprehensive inpatient physical therapy care. The unit features 30 beds and employs 22 staff members including PT, OT, SLP, and techs, ensuring a collaborative and supportive work environment. The unit is housed on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building and utilizes Meditech (Expanse) for documentation, streamlining patient care processes. The unit balances a fast-paced atmosphere with manageable patient ratios of 7:1, allowing focused, quality care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough patient evaluations to assess rehabilitation needs.
• Implement and manage therapeutic exercises (Therex), gait training, and functional training.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and transfers.
• Provide family and patient education to support ongoing recovery.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
• Participate in weekend rotation call requirements.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid BLS certification is mandatory.
• Proven experience in physical therapy within inpatient rehabilitation settings.
• Comfortable working independently in a new hospital and unit startup environment.
