Job Description
Deliver comprehensive outpatient and inpatient physical therapy care across all patient age groups and diverse diagnoses, adhering to Alaskas physical therapy practice standards. You will integrate evidence-based treatments into care plans, adapting for individual and age-specific needs. This contract position ensures a professional environment with opportunities to respect and navigate cultural diversity throughout patient interactions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat patients in both hospital and village-based settings using a wide range of therapeutic equipment and modalities
- Develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans rooted in best practices
- Collaborate with peers, medical staff, and administrative personnel to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Accurately compose and maintain patient documentation and medical correspondence
- Provide culturally sensitive care, adapting communication for patients who may not speak English
- Stay current with physical therapy research and integrate findings into therapeutic interventions
- Operate basic MS Office programs, manage electronic records, and utilize internet resources for continued learning
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Alaska license as a Physical Therapist or FSBPT paperwork completed (for new graduates preparing for licensure)
- Hospital-based experience valued but not required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities
- Comfortable independently planning care in environments with variable resourcesvillage outreach may require bringing equipment to remote locations
