Job Description

Physical Therapists are invited to bring their expertise to a dynamic hospital-based setting with a primary focus on outpatient therapy and occasional coverage in acute care. This contract position is patient-centered, with responsibilities extending from evaluation to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, all in line with physical therapy standards, physician directives, and hospital policies.

Skills & Experience Sought:

  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist with proven competency in both outpatient and acute care environments.
  • Experience delegating responsibilities to Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides.
  • Strong assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Windows.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and compliance with mandatory safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct formal and informal patient evaluations to assess musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular function.
  • Develop, revise, and implement goal-oriented treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and support staff.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, prognosis, treatment rationale, and home programs.
  • Supervise PT Assistants, Aides, Home Health Aides, and students in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Document patient progress and clinical interventions in compliance with affiliate policies.
  • Recommend and assist in acquiring adaptive/supportive equipment as needed.
  • Participate in team conferences, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and support program development.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality, safety, and customer service.
