Provide expert physical therapy services with a focus on acute inpatient care in a hospital rehabilitation setting. This contract opportunity is based in Hilo, HI, offering a unique chance to work within acute rehab and secondary ICF/SNF rehab environments. Candidates must be prepared to manage evaluation, re-evaluation, and implementation of therapeutic physical therapy programs as prescribed by attending physicians and specialists, collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and re-evaluate assigned patients to develop ongoing physical therapy treatment plans.
• Implement therapeutic programs targeting acute inpatient rehabilitation needs.
• Provide consulting physical therapy services as required by the hospital team.
• Utilize EMR systems, specifically Meditech, for documentation and patient management.
• Be available to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays, in support of hospital operations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 6 months of work experience in at least one of the following adult care settings: acute care, rehabilitation hospital, or skilled nursing facility (SNF).
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Must hold or obtain a valid State of Hawaii physical therapy license prior to the start date.
• Availability for variable schedules:
  • Monday-Friday, 8:30 am5:00 pm
  • TuesdaySaturday, 8:30 am5:00 pm
  • SundayThursday, 8:30 am5:00 pm

Important Notes:

• Candidates must arrive the Thursday before the assignment start date to attend the employee health appointment on Friday.
• Please ensure availability on the offered start date; late arrival will not be accommodated.
• Licensure in Hawaii is mandatory by assignment start; applicants without an active Hawaii license must apply immediately upon acceptance of the offer.
