Job Description

Provide expert physical therapy services in a hospital rehabilitation unit focused on inpatient care. This travel assignment offers 40 guaranteed hours per week over a 6-week duration with a day shift schedule. Candidates must hold current BLS certification and bring strong skills in patient evaluations, ADLs, transfers, gait training, therex, functional training, and family/patient education.

Location: Hawthorne, FL This assignment is based in a well-equipped hospital rehab unit featuring a 30-bed capacity and a dedicated team of 22 staff members, including PT, OT, SLP, and techs. The unit utilizes typical inpatient rehab (IPR) gym equipment such as balance tools and gait systems and operates with a 7:1 patient-to-staff ratio. Documentation is maintained via Meditech (Expanse).

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and implement effective physical therapy treatment plans
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), transfers, gait training, and therex protocols
  • Provide patient and family education to support continued recovery
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Adhere to unit policies including a light gray scrub dress code and participate in weekend rotation as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current BLS certification required
  • Ability to function independently in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Adaptable to a new hospital and unit startup process beginning 5/5
