Job Description

Located in Brockton, MA, this contract opportunity involves providing expert physical therapy services in an acute care setting. The role primarily supports a designated team/service area while also participating in a rotating service model to meet patient needs across units. The standard schedule consists of 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with weekend work anticipated once monthly. When working a weekend, you will receive a weekday off within the pay period. No holiday coverage is expected.

This position focuses on assisting patients in maximizing their physical performance and adjusting to disabilities. Through interpreting evaluations and test results, you will develop and implement effective treatment plans, administer manual exercises, and guide patients in physical activities and use of assistive devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient assessments and establish individualized plans of care.
  • Document treatment goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation.
  • Communicate evaluation results, goals, and treatment plans with patients and their families.
  • Evaluate treatment effectiveness at various stages and adjust plans accordingly.
  • Complete billing documentation accurately by the end of each day.
  • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) in accordance with policies and state regulations.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Completion of internship or apprenticeship program required; 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and case management skills.
  • Effective communication and teaching abilities.
  • Familiarity with accreditation and certification standards applicable to physical therapy practice.
