Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time, contract position
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
- Active Alaska Physical Therapist license or completed FSBPT paperwork for recent graduates
- Current BLS certification
- Hospital-based experience preferred, but not required
- Strong competency in reading and interpreting medical literature, and authoring clear patient documentation
- Effective communicator with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, including individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Proficient with computers, including MS Office, email, and online research for medical literature
- Sound mathematical skills for clinical data interpretation
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient physical therapy care for patients of all ages
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans using evidence-based medicine
- Adapt therapy approaches based on patients age, condition, and cultural considerations
- Utilize department-specific equipment such as hi-lo tables, therapeutic modalities, and exercise tools
- Manage village-based treatment with adaptability, bringing additional equipment when needed
- Maintain accurate and timely patient care records and medical correspondence
- Collaborate with medical staff and contribute to interdisciplinary care
- Uphold ethical practices and respect for cultural diversity in all aspects of care
