Join a dynamic rehabilitation team providing essential physical therapy services within a hospital setting located in Bakersfield, CA. This travel opportunity invites a skilled physical therapist to contribute to restoring and improving patients' physical, social, and mental functions while supporting department objectives. The role involves working closely as a co-leader in an interdisciplinary approach to patient care across various hospital units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct targeted segments of treatment programs tailored to patient needs.
- Collaborate actively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation services.
- Provide physical therapy interventions in multiple hospital units based on physician orders.
- Utilize specialized equipment, including wheelchairs, walkers, and canes, to aid patient mobility.
- Participate in advanced procedures such as video swallow exams in collaboration with transportation services.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation through Cerner electronic health records.
- Adhere to scheduling requirements, including a rotational weekend shift and call-in responsibilities.
- Optional floating to other sites to support staffing needs is encouraged.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Physical Therapist licensure.
- Experience in hospital-based therapy, especially within rehabilitation services.
- Proficiency with patient mobility equipment and specialized therapy procedures.
- Excellent interdisciplinary communication and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with Cerner documentation systems preferred.
- Flexibility to work weekend shifts and respond to call requirements.
Schedule & Work Environment:
- Day shifts only, no night shifts.
- Weekend coverage required on a rotating basis (1 weekend shift per month).
- Rehab aide and manager collaborate on scheduling.
- Work conducted in a hospital outpatient building and across inpatient units.
- Dress code includes black scrubs.
