Job Description

Deliver high-quality physical therapy care to patients across all age groups in both outpatient and inpatient hospital settings. This dynamic role requires providing evidence-based rehabilitative interventions within the full scope of Alaskas physical therapy standards. Professionals in this capacity demonstrate expert clinical judgment, uphold strong ethics, and respect diverse cultures while adapting care strategies based on age and individual patient needs.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Full-time, contract position

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Licensed as a Physical Therapist in Alaska or eligible with proper FSBPT paperwork (applicable for recent graduates preparing for licensure)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Experience in hospital-based physical therapy preferred, though not required
  • Proficiency in therapeutic modalities such as whirlpool, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and therapeutic exercise equipment
  • Skilled in medical literature review, documenting patient care, and drafting medical communications
  • Strong interpersonal abilities for collaboration with medical staff, peers, and administrative personnel
  • Competency in working with culturally diverse populations, including those with limited English proficiency
  • Adept with basic computer skills, MS Office, email, and internet-based research
  • Aptitude for fundamental math, data interpretation, and practical problem-solving
  • All travelers must provide proof of completed COVID-19 vaccinations

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualized therapy plans for a broad spectrum of clinical diagnoses and ages
  • Integrate current evidence-based practices into patient care
  • Modify therapy plans as necessary based on patient progress and specific needs
  • Provide services in varied environments, including well-equipped hospital departments and village-based settings with portable resources
  • Foster clear communication and a respectful, inclusive therapeutic environment
