Job Description

Make an impact by supporting patients on their journey to recovery in a hospital-based setting. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work closely under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to provide high-quality care that enhances patients mobility, strength, and independence following injury or illness. This hands-on role involves planning and implementing therapy programs and ensuring patient-centered, compassionate service across a variety of care settings within the hospital.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist to assess patient needs and develop individualized therapy plans
  • Assist in delivering physical therapy treatments to improve range of motion, strength, coordination, and functional mobility
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting changes to the therapy team as needed
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises and techniques for continued improvement
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards in providing therapy services
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure high standards of cleanliness and safety in therapy areas

Qualifications and desired experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
  • Current, valid licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant
  • Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to patient-centered and quality-focused care
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
