Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients' functional abilities through both formal and informal evaluations, examining skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive factors.
  • Develop individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans based on thorough assessment and patient tolerance, ensuring effective interventions aligned with best practices.
  • Prepare and submit detailed written treatment plans for physician authorization; continuously update care strategies to reflect any changes in patient condition.
  • Oversee the scheduling of therapy sessions, coordinating frequency and duration with patients, families, and clinical staff to optimize patient progress.
  • Provide comprehensive education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding their condition, alternatives for care, expected outcomes, and treatment rationale.
  • Supervise and delegate responsibilities to Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and affiliate standards.

Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Demonstrated experience in a hospital or acute care setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong foundation in therapy assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and patient education skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise support personnel in accordance with established guidelines.
