Job Description

Deliver exceptional patient-focused occupational therapy services within a hospital environment, working primarily with acute care and some outpatient cases. As a key member of the therapy team, you'll assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment strategies designed to restore or facilitate optimal patient function. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a difference in patients lives while mentoring occupational therapy assistants and participating in program development.

Schedule:

  • Contract position with standard weekday hours; specific schedule to be discussed.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program with current licensure.
  • Solid understanding of formal and informal patient assessment methods.
  • Competency in developing and updating individualized treatment plans.
  • Experience supervising Occupational Therapy Assistants and Aides preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and willingness to learn new technology.
  • Ability to manage stressful and emotionally challenging situations with sensitivity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Physical ability to meet medium demand requirements, including lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally and standing/walking for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient evaluations assessing skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive function.
  • Develop evidence-based treatment regimens and update care plans as necessary.
  • Submit and coordinate treatment plans with physicians and other care providers.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, therapeutic interventions, and home programs.
  • Supervise assistants, aides, and students in line with regulatory and affiliation standards.
  • Document patient responses and changes in conditions accurately and timely to comply with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to staff and community education, participate in process improvement, and support occupational therapy program growth.
