Desired Qualifications:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Michigan or eligibility to obtain.
  • Prior acute care or hospital experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, assessment, and communication skills.
  • Experience in delegating responsibilities and supervising therapy assistants and aides.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient function with formal/informal tests (skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, cognitive).
  • Develop specialized goal-oriented treatment plans tailored to each patients tolerance and needs.
  • Submit written treatment strategies for inclusion in the physician-coordinated plan of care; update plans as patient status changes.
  • Communicate treatment schedules and frequency with patients, families, and clinical staff.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, prognosis, and therapeutic strategies.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students per regulatory standards.
