Step into a dynamic therapy environment providing vital occupational therapy services in both acute care and outpatient settings. This contract position focuses on patient-centered care, utilizing comprehensive assessments, targeted intervention plans, and coordinated, multidisciplinary teamwork to help patients achieve optimal function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed evaluations of patients neurological, skeletal, cognitive, and social functions using formal and informal tests.
- Create individualized, goal-oriented treatment plans, adapting interventions in collaboration with the physician and care team.
- Develop and maintain documentation in compliance with regulatory and facility policies.
- Educate and empower patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment plan alternatives, and prognosis.
- Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students, ensuring adherence to organizational and regulatory standards.
- Recommend adaptive/supportive equipment and facilitate acquisition for patients as needed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary conferences and contribute to ongoing process and program improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a resource for community education and promote the profession within the organization and service area.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and respect in line with organizational values.
- Safely perform physical requirements, including lifting and moving patients or equipment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapist license with relevant clinical experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and willingness to participate in ongoing technology training.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain excellent attendance.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
