A skilled Occupational Therapist is needed to provide expert rehabilitation services in a hospital setting in Rantoul, IL. This contract role focuses on delivering patient-centered therapy with attention to functional outcomes and safe care practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform patient transfers safely with assistance as needed, utilizing proper body mechanics to protect all involved.
• Design comprehensive plans of care that integrate goals, treatments, expected outcomes, and discharge planning.
• Adjust interventions based on patient progress and clinical evidence.
• Conduct thorough examinations using reliable evaluation methods to make accurate therapy diagnoses.
• Screen patients to assess the need for therapy services and determine the course of treatment.
• Supervise support personnel, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to ethical and legal standards.
• Document all evaluations, treatment plans, responses, and modifications in compliance with department and regulatory policies.
• Implement functional, patient-tailored interventions considering emotional and physical needs.
• Utilize standardized outcome measures to track and report patient progress.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, providing education and training as necessary.
• Complete required education programs relevant to specialty programs, such as hip and knee replacement protocols.
• Communicate patient status, therapy recommendations, and discharge needs clearly to the interdisciplinary team.
