Qualifications and Experience:

  • Licensed Occupational Therapist with current credentials in good standing
  • Experience in hospital or acute care settings is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to effectively interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Aides, and students according to regulatory guidelines
  • Proficient in assessment, care planning, and implementation of therapy interventions

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments, using both formal and informal tools, to determine patients neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, skeletal, developmental, social, and cognitive status
  • Design and implement individualized, goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment findings and patient tolerance, in compliance with physician orders
  • Submit written treatment regimes for inclusion in medical records and coordinate plan of care with physicians and support staff
  • Adjust and update care plans as needed in response to changes in patient status, and co-sign verbal orders when necessary
  • Schedule and manage therapy sessions, aligning frequency and duration with clinical needs and family input
  • Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment options, prognosis, and care rationale
  • Supervise and support Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students as required by facility and regulatory standards
