Job Description

Step into a vital patient-focused therapy role working primarily within acute care and supporting outpatient services. As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide comprehensive evaluation, planning, intervention, and assessment in line with established occupational therapy standards, collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to maximize each patients function and quality of life.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract position with full-time requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current Occupational Therapy licensure (or eligibility)
  • Experience delivering care in hospital or acute therapy settings is advantageous
  • Ability to delegate to Occupational Therapy Assistants and Aides, offering clear supervision per regulatory standards
  • Competence with Microsoft Windows and willingness to pursue ongoing technology training
  • Strong commitment to excellence, integrity, accountability, and collaborative teamwork

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patient needs using formal and informal assessments (skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, cognitive)
  • Develop and implement personalized, goal-oriented treatment regimes, documenting and updating plans as patient status changes
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding their condition, treatment rationale, and home programs
  • Supervise and collaborate with Occupational Therapist Assistants, Aides, and students
  • Recommend and coordinate adaptive/supportive equipment orders as needed
  • Maintain timely and detailed daily documentation meeting all affiliate and regulatory standards
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, program development, and process improvement activities
  • Promote occupational therapy principles within the broader service area through community education initiatives

Working Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to handle stressful situations, maintain effective communication, and manage multiple priorities
  • May require periods of standing, sitting, and walking, plus occasional lifting (medium physical demand)
  • Must utilize personal protective equipment as needed and follow appropriate safety protocols
