An opportunity is available for a skilled Occupational Therapist in a hospital setting, working primarily with acute care and outpatient populations. This contract role centers on patient-focused occupational therapy services, utilizing high standards of clinical care, strong ethics, teamwork, and accountability. Candidates should be comfortable working in both high-intensity and collaborative, interdisciplinary environments.
Schedule:
- Full-time hours on a contract basis
Qualifications:
- Active licensure/certification as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience in hospital settings, particularly acute and outpatient care
- Ability to delegate responsibilities to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides
- Competency in Microsoft Windows and willingness to pursue ongoing learning
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capability to manage physical demands consistent with a medium physical demand level (lift/carry up to 50 lbs occasionally, frequent standing/walking)
- Strong commitment to confidentiality, ethics, quality, and teamwork
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient function using formal/informal assessments, including skeletal, neurological, and cognitive domains
- Develop, document, and implement goal-driven treatment plans in coordination with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding diagnoses, treatment alternatives, and home care programs
- Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapist Assistants, aides, and students
- Document patient responses and changes per organizational and regulatory standards
- Recommend and assist with adaptive/supportive equipment
- Participate in program development, process improvement, and community education
- Attend interdisciplinary and team meetings as required
