This 13-week assignment is ideal for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) seeking to broaden their clinical skills within a hospital environment. Working with veterans in this setting will expose you to varied workplace practices and leadership approaches, empowering you to expand your professional repertoire and resume. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team focused on patient-centered care and make a meaningful impact each day.
Schedule/Hours:
- 13-week contract
- 36 hours guaranteed per week
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current COTA certification required
- Active state licensure (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- Previous experience in an acute care or hospital setting preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt to new environments and diverse patient needs
- Commitment to ethical, compassionate patient care
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing occupational therapy treatment plans for patients under licensed OT supervision
- Support patient progress toward individualized goals with hands-on therapy and adaptive approaches
- Document and report on patient outcomes, challenges, and successes
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and safe practices
- Collaborate with therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals
