Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Adapt curriculum materials and teaching techniques to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth for all students.
  • Collaborate with other educators, parents, and support staff to address students' unique needs effectively.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Provide guidance and support to paraprofessionals and support staff working with students with special needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress, behavior, and IEP goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field (required).
  • Valid state certification/license in Special Education (required).
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and students.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of students with special needs.
