Special Education Teacher Opening – 24/25 SY – Surprise, AZ
A school district in the Surprise, AZ area is seeking a Special Education Teacher to fill an open position. Work with a school district that supports its teachers and students. This district needs someone who can hop in and lead their students with quality aids and services. This position would start at the beginning of the 2024/2025 school year and continue for the full year with a renewal option after successful assignment completion.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education or related fields
Must have an active AZ Special Education Teachers License.
Must have IVP Fingerprint clearance card.
Previous Special Education Teaching experience preferred but not required.
Pass a Drug screening and background check (fingerprints).
Must have 2-3 positive Supervisor references.

Job Specifics:

Full-time, 40 hours a week
Caseload: Multiple positions are open within the 5^th – 12^th grade levels. Both Resource and Self-contained options.
Provide case management services for students on IEPs.
Maintain compliance of federal, state and district regulations/requirements for IEPs
Provide direct instruction according to IEP.
Develop and implement full continuum of services.
Maintain accurate records.
Consult in the RtI process.
Maintain on-going communication with parents and guardians.
Provide behavior management support and implement behavior intervention plans.
Partner with staff to implement accommodations and modifications within the school setting.
Provide a safe learning environment.
Other duties as assigned.
Further caseload details will be discussed in the interview and placement will be based off experience and preference.
After successful completion of assignment, huge potential for a contract renewal to return the following school year!
