Job Description

Sunbelt Staffing is currently seeking a Special Education Teacher for a position in the Meriden, CT area. This role will involve providing tailored educational support to students with diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities:

Develop and adapt lesson plans to meet the individualized needs of students with disabilities
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide direct instruction and support across various subjects and skill levels
Work closely with special education staff and general education teachers to ensure successful inclusion
Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians to address student progress and concerns

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
Valid Special Education Teacher certification in Connecticut
Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred
Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
Strong communication and collaboration skills
