Job Opportunity: Special Education Teacher

Location: Elmhurst, IL

Employer: Contract job with Sunbelt at a local school district

Position Type: Contract

Hours: 35 hours per week

Duration: ASAP through End of School Year

Caseload: Middle School, Self-Contained Classroom

Student Profile: Approximately 8 students with moderate/severe mental/emotional disabilities (not physical), including anxiety, depression, and school-avoidant/school-phobic behavior.

Special Education Teacher Job Qualifications:

Valid Professional Educator License (PEL)
Experience working with students with mental/emotional disabilities preferred
Strong understanding of special education principles and practices
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders

Special Education Teacher Responsibilities:

Conduct evaluations and assessments to determine student needs
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Provide direct and indirect instructional and support services to students
Attend meetings with parents, administrators, and other professionals
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success
Provide consultation to other staff members as needed

Work Hours:

Monday to Friday
Report at 8:00 AM
End at 3:30 PM
30-minute unpaid lunch break
