Job Description

This opportunity is for a skilled Teacher of the Visually Impaired to work onsite within a K-12 school setting. The position offers both full-time and part-time options, focusing on educating students with visual impairments throughout their primary and secondary education. The role is based in Worcester, MA, and is a contract position for the upcoming school year (NSY).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support tailored to students with visual impairments across K-12 grades
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students unique needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and service providers to ensure accessibility and academic success
  • Utilize assistive technologies and alternative techniques to enhance learning experiences
  • Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must possess a valid Massachusetts Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license
  • Experience working with visually impaired students in educational settings, ideally K-12
  • Strong understanding of visual impairment impact on learning and developmental milestones
  • Ability to design and execute personalized instruction plans
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
