This contract opportunity is part-time, offering 8-10 hours per week throughout the school year. Provide expert instruction and adaptations for students with varied visual impairmentsnone of whom are fully blind or use brailleensuring their academic and personal growth.

Your caseload will consist of seven students across multiple school sites (specific assignments to be determined), with a focus on individualized support and collaboration with educational teams. This position is on-site, as in-person interaction has been identified as essential for student success.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Texas certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) required
• Experience supporting students with low vision in educational settings
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with families and staff
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies for students at varying developmental and academic levels
• Familiarity with assistive technology, modifications, and accessible educational resources

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct functional vision assessments and develop individualized lesson plans tailored to each student
• Provide direct instruction in areas such as visual efficiency, adaptive devices, and daily living skills
• Consult regularly with general educators and related service providers to facilitate student inclusion
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for each student on your caseload
• Attend meetings and provide recommendations regarding student needs and accommodations
