Your specialized skills will ensure that students with visual impairments receive the personalized instruction and accommodations necessary for academic and personal success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Visual Impairment (VI)
- Experience supporting students with visual impairments in school settings
- Familiarity with Braille, assistive technology, and low-vision devices
- Strong skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with teachers, families, and support staff
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and ongoing support to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to meet individual needs
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments
- Collaborate closely with educators and specialists to design effective learning strategies
- Monitor student progress and maintain thorough documentation in compliance with state and federal requirements
- Offer consultation and professional development to school staff regarding best practices for visually impaired learners
