You will collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families, ensuring students with visual impairments receive customized support to maximize their learning experiences. The assignments include working across multiple schools, enhancing your skills as you adapt to varied learning environments.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

• Valid Ohio certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) required
• Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings, preferably K-12
• Strong knowledge of assistive technologies and adaptive devices for visually impaired students
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills
• Comfort with virtual communication formats, as interviews will be conducted via Zoom

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and academic adaptation for students with visual impairments
• Consult with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented
• Assess students needs and progress, recommending appropriate resources and strategies
• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and accessible classroom environment
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing student evaluations
