Job Description

This contract opportunity, spanning the 2026-2027 academic year, offers a chance to work closely with learners of varying ages and abilities. With a flexible, part-time schedule10 hours per week structured around student needsyoull gain experience across different school environments and play a crucial role in supporting diverse caseloads.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Ohio Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification is required
  • Experience working with students who are visually impaired across different age groups preferred
  • Ability to adapt instruction and support to diverse learning needs
  • Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to commute between schools and, occasionally, homebound student locations
  • Strong communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instructional support and adaptations for students with visual impairments
  • Assess students needs and help develop and implement IEPs in partnership with district teams
  • Consult with general education staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are in place
  • May require travel to multiple school sites within the district, with some occasional homebound instruction as needed
  • Maintain detailed progress reports and participate in IEP meetings and related documentation
  • Serve as a resource for families, advocating for student success and access
