Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in a school community near Williamstown, KY. This contract opportunity starts August 17th, 2026 and continues through May 26th, 2027, offering 25 hours per week of fulfilling work alongside dedicated educational professionals. Help support student success by providing specialized instruction and advocacy for learners with visual impairments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Kentucky Special Education license with Visually Impaired (VI) endorsement
  • Experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in a school setting
  • Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and educational teams
  • Commitment to fostering independence and confidence in students
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and materials for accessibility
  • Organizational skills and flexibility to manage caseload and instructional needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to visually impaired students
  • Assess students strengths and needs, contribute to IEP development, and monitor progress
  • Consult with classroom teachers on modifications, accommodations, and assistive technology
  • Provide orientation and mobility training as needed
  • Participate in IEP meetings and communicate regularly with families and teams
  • Advocate for resources and access to ensure an inclusive educational environment
