Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired for the 20262027 school year. Located in a welcoming Arizona community near Valentine and Kingman, this contract position offers the opportunity to make a real impact for visually impaired learners in an education-driven environment.
This part-time assignment (20 hours per week) runs from July 15th, 2026, through May 19th, 2027, giving you a predictable schedule and the chance to develop deep connections with your students.
Required Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with children or youth who are blind or visually impaired
- Knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive instructional techniques
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Passion for promoting confidence, self-advocacy, and independence in students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultation services for students with visual impairments
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, aides, and related service providers
- Adapt classroom materials and curriculum to meet each student's unique needs
- Monitor student progress and contribute to IEP development and documentation
- Serve as a resource for staff and families regarding visual impairment and accessibility
