Step into a vital educational role supporting students with visual impairments for the upcoming 20262027 school year. This contract position, situated near Tempe and Glendale, AZ, is tailored for dedicated Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) who thrive in an inclusive and impactful K12 environment.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid education certification in teaching students with visual impairments
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
- Previous experience as a TVI preferred
- Strong understanding of tactile and assistive educational technologies
- Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, teachers, and families
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills
- Committed to fostering independence for students with diverse visual needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to K12 students with visual impairments
- Develop accessible curriculum materials and adapt classroom resources
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments
- Collaborate with faculty and related service providers to support student success
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning
- Provide orientation and mobility resources as appropriate
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and comply with all state and district requirements

- Servicing locations near both Tempe and Glendale, AZ
